Global Application Manager GAM 2.5 is a technology of Syntea software group a.s. responsible for control and integration of the application environment. As a puzzle-like constructed system it is created by a free extendable set of programs and applications.
GAM 2.5 is an event-controlled system. It offers a platform to create and control a number of sets of web services as well as the automated processing of various types of batch files. It also enables to postpone the events by minutes, days, and months or even in years. All system activities are initiated as responses to expected types of events.
GAM 2.5 was completely created in JAVA environment. It is built on the Oracle version 9i or higher and as application container it uses Tomcat. The corner stones of application management of GAM 2.5 are once the data queues of Oracle database and second, the own registered technology Xdefinice 2.0 to process the XML documents. All internal messages and all configuration files have the XML structure. That enables high flexibility of the whole system.
The "mother tongue" of GAM 2.5 is XML. All inputs and outputs are created as XML documents. On the interface these may be transferred as single documents or in batches. The interface of GAM 2.5 may use both the file system or web services. If the particular interface uses some specific format (XLS, database, specific http connection etc.) GAM transforms it on the internal side into XML.
GAM 2.5 understands each document/message input as an event that it responds to. It responds only to events (documents/messages) that were defined in advance. The definition contains the validation rules, data flow specification including parameters and activities that guarantee the processing of the data flow. All these definitions are part of the metadata of GAM 2.5. The metadata has XML document format as well.
Gam 2.5 enables to create a large information system including integration tool that assures the automated co-operation of other local or remote systems which process even very large data amounts.
We develop GAM 2.5 since 2003. The robustness and reliability of GAM 2.5-based-systems were verified by running in several tens of various installations within large process-oriented database projects.
